Nebo Redesign of FLEX-Drain Wins Best Manufacturing Website Award

The Web Marketing Association has presented its 2011 Best Manufacturing Website Award to Nebo, an award-winning interactive marketing agency, in recognition of Nebo’s outstanding achievement in website development for the redesign of the FLEX-Drain website.

The entries were judged on seven criteria — design, innovation, content, technology, interactivity, copywriting and ease of use. The FLEX-Drain site received nearly perfect scores in every category, scoring 66 out of a possible 70 points. One judge remarked, “Wow. For a drainage pipe system? Seriously? Really, really well done. It’s simple to get sexy with full-frame Flash pieces for BMW. These guys really got it right here. Outstanding.”

FLEX-Drain is the most flexible and easy-to-use landscape drainage pipe on the market today; however, its differentiation, albeit its core strength, presented one of the larger challenges in the website redesign. The innovation of FLEX-Drain challenged decades of the same way of thinking, and the company’s goal was to get contractors and landscapers to embrace this new product.

Nebo designed the FLEX-Drain site to showcase its benefits through instructional and comparative videos, testimonials from contractors, and an interactive tool that helps users plan their drainage system. The design also made it easier to find retailers that sell FLEX-Drain’s products, and for contractors to learn more about how these products work.

In an effort to effectively communicate FLEX-Drain’s benefits, Nebo also:

Concepted and filmed the FLEX-Drain challenge to show that FLEX-Drain’s products were faster to install and lowered labor costs. Created a 3D representation of common drainage problems within the home to help people diagnose their issues. Filmed instructional videos showing FLEX-Drain in action and highlighting its simple installation features. Filmed contractor testimonials to provide peer-based social proof.
