Despite the recent unseasonably hot weather, it looks as if one of the biggest tv events in history could be a wet affair.
Sky’s weather presenter Nazaneen Ghaffar states cloud will move in overnight with rain showers starting in the early hours of Friday.
They could last until midday, meaning there is a chance Kate Middleton will have a wet journey to Westminster Abbey to marry Prince William.
The damp conditions could also affect how the newlyweds make their way to Buckingham Palace after the ceremony.
The couple are due to travel along the processional route in an open top 1902 State Landau, but will have to make do with a Glass Coach if the heavens open.
The weather forecast will be bad news for the thousands of people camped out in London ahead of the large day.
Makeshift tent villages have sprung up on pavements as people jostle for the ideal view of the day’s events.
But not everyone celebrating the occasion will be affected by showers.
Iin northwest Scotland temperatures could be as high as 19C.
Kate Middleton waves to the crowds ahead of her wedding
At St Andrews in Fife, where the couple met as university undergraduates, a wedding breakfast party with around 1,500 guests is forecast to be bathed in sunshine.
But rain is expected in Anglesey where Prince William and his new wife will share their first marital home while he continues his work as a search and rescue helicopter pilot.
A series of celebrations are planned for Anglesey, along with the thousands of other street parties that have been organised across the country.
But Nazaneen states the afternoon looks drier and brighter in London.
This will come as a relief the large crowds eager to see William and Kate’s first kiss on the balcony of Buckingham Palace at 1.25pm.
